david Jaffee's new game FREE to 1st 1000 peeps
Posted by: BikerSaint - 12-23-2015, 08:29 PM - Forum: Gaming Discussion - No Replies

David Jaffee's new game "Drawn to Death" is free as a D/L on the PSN store right now, using the code below.

This same code is good for 1000 PSN claims, but you better act fast if you want to try it out because he already posted it on Twitter over an hour ago(mine's downloading now).

Here's the free game code....

I've been gone for about 2-3 years after losing my internet due to a severe financial hardship, & now that I'm back, all I see & hear are thousands of crickets throughout this forum & throughout all it's threads.

Hell, even starving zombies are having a hard time finding brains to eat around here anymore!

  PS Store Permanently Undergoing Maintenance.
Posted by: TheWorldEnds - 12-16-2015, 01:21 PM - Forum: The Forgotten Threads - No Replies

Anybody elses PS3 PS Store permanently undergoing maintenance? It sorta defeats the holiday sale and I wanna download Ace Combat. Haven't flown a plane in years.

I'd love a fix, but right now all I can do is hope it fixes with the next update.

Ideas?

  Question for Ben
Posted by: duomaxwell007 - 08-24-2015, 12:05 PM - Forum: Gaming Discussion - No Replies

Ok so supposedly (in regards to Metal Gear Solid V). There was a copy given out or played during the Phantom Pain Bootcamp event that was the full game with the ending cut out to avoid leaks and spoilers getting online, supposedly thats the same copy that was given out as review copies. So when reviews say the story/ending sucks (yet they still give it a 10/10 as opposed to a 9/10 or 9.5/10 which makes no sense to me lol, the fact that there is one aspect about a game you don't like or a "flaw" should prevent it from getting a perfect score but anyway...), defenders on forums are saying that information is inaccurate because those reviewers can even SEE the ending thus cant give a valid opinion on the ending or the story as a whole. So my question is this, can you confirm either by personal knowledge or link that the Bootcamp version of MGSV indeed DOES have the ending cut, as well as confirm that the bootcamp version is the version sent to reviewers for early reviews and thus isnt the EXACT same game the rest of us will be picking up on Sept 1st (as that one will have the ending whereas the bootcamp/review copy does not)?

  Digital soundtracks
Posted by: Amish Love Machine - 05-26-2015, 07:40 AM - Forum: Gaming Discussion - No Replies

I'm sure this is well-known but I thought I'd post it anyway in case there are others like me who didn't know it could be done.

If you got a PS4 game that comes with a digital soundtrack, you should be able to download that soundtrack so you have listening options than just the PS4. After the soundtrack is installed and it's run, hit the option button and select the "Download tracklist" option. It'll download the soundtrack in ZIP format to a connected USB drive. Said ZIP file can then be unzipped in Windows, etc. which can then be used as you see fit.

I'm not sure if this works for all soundtracks. It has for the two I've tried it with (The Order and Bloodborne).

  Are videogames sexist?
Posted by: Spartan119 - 03-10-2015, 07:33 PM - Forum: Gaming Discussion - No Replies

In an attempt to jumpstart some discussion on here again, I thought I'd pose this question since it seems to be the topic on everyone's minds lately. A recent front page article, or more accurate the comments on it (nothing about Ben's actual article is either controversial or problematic, it's actually entirely neutral), is what prompted this thread:

http://www.psxextreme.com/ps4-news/2888.html

Do you think gaming is being "hijacked" be "feminists and social justice warriors", or do you think there is a legitimate problem in games that needs to be addressed?

Personally, I think there is a big problem with sexism in gaming, and I think EVERYONE would be better served it it were properly addressed. The sooner we stop objectifying women in games, the sooner we can start being more inclusive of actual female characterization in them, which can only lead to richer, deeper stories, since they happen to comprise half the world population and as such have quite a few stories with their own unique perspectives.

  Ubi's Monopoly scam.
Posted by: frostface - 12-17-2014, 09:17 PM - Forum: Gaming Discussion - No Replies

Monopoly is available on the PS4 and it's awesome. I have to get that out of the way early because there's a bit of a public service warning and rant coming on.

A couple of weeks ago I seen on the PSN store the family fun pack of Monopoly. Included in the pack was Monopoly Plus, My Monopoly and a Monopoly card game. Each can be bought separately but at the time of purchase only the packaged family pack was available, I guess the store was still updating. I spent 30euro for stuff I didn't really need as the basic game was all I really cared about. However I ended up with all the packs in one convenient bundle and went off recommending it to anyone and everyone.

A couple of people took me up on the recommendation and bought the basic Monopoly Plus game without all the extra fluff I'd purchased. We went to get a game in and when we'd invite each other, me with the family pack that includes the same game they own, we'd get directed to the PS store to buy the game again. Basically what had happened was that it recognised the version I had as a different game, it was the Family Fun Pack, theirs was Monopoly Plus.

I got onto Sony the next working day, explained the problem and got fobbed off that it's a different game and that there was nothing they could do for me. It really isn't a different game though. So Deadman (one of the dynamic duo that took up my recommendation) got onto Ubisoft and they gave him pretty much the same story.

So to sum up, technically we own the same game but because I spent a bit more to get the extra stuff that was packaged, I can't play with anyone who just bought the basic pack and vice versa. Now you could argue that with the pack I bought there's extra stuff that wouldn't be compatible with the basic pack the lads got without them splashing out. And that would be a fair point. Except that none of the extra stuff can be shared. For example, I used the My Monopoly to re-create the old Dublin Monopoly board I played as a kid. I can only play that board in local play, not online. Absolutely none of the extra stuff will benefit anyone else except me.

So if you're buying Monopoly and want to play with your friends online, make sure you all agree on getting either the Family Fun Pack or the basic pack.

Sony snook DLNA onto PS4. (sort of)
Posted by: frostface - 12-17-2014, 08:59 PM - Forum: Gaming Discussion - No Replies

So there's a service called Plex that basically is a paid service that does what a DLNA servers does but up to now through a browser.

Theoretically that means we've had access to a DLNA server all along through the PS4 browser, up until tonight I wasn't aware of this but that's been an option for a long while I believe.

However, I found out about it today because a new dedicated Plex app has appeared on the PS4 for download and I've been messing about with it tonight (I did have to sign up to a Plex sub -4euro'ish a month) and it works really well once set up.

I'll try log on tomorrow and see if it's kept all the settings and how smooth it is getting back into it. I did do some messing about to get it to sync everything on my laptop but nothing that the average joe couldn't figure out.
